The Amazing Electronic Knight
The electronic knight on an online board or e-knight on an e-board, galloping on an online board, is made more expedient to use for attack purposes. What makes the e-knight different from its traditional counterpart? Here is a summary.
First, to move in on the board, an e-knight is merely clicked on. It automatically clings to the hand-pointer. Then, we put it on a square of our choice, click the knight to make it stay there, and we're done. We have moved the knight correctly.
When dealing with e-knights we are always assured that all moves are correctly done. When the knight stays on the square we moved it on it is a signal that the move was done correctly.
Just remember: knights always take 3 squares when moving. The move always takes the shape of the letter L from its point of origin.
On traditional boards incorrect knight moves are frequent. Sometimes, instead of taking only 3 squares in a right angle from its original position the move goes awry and takes 4 squares. Sometimes nobody notices this and the whole game is affected.
But with online boards e-knight moves (and all moves for that matter) are always checked by the ever vigilant software program. If there is any error the program blares the alarm at once and everybody is notified on screen. That's how thoroughly checked a knight on an online board is.
Knights online, as well as traditionally, are the only chess pieces allowed to jump over or bypass other members. They are not limited by any piece that stands in their way.
Using chess notation, if we have our knight on d4 and enemy pieces surround it, like a rook on c5, a knight on d5, a pawn checking it on e5, another knight on e4, a queen on e3, a bishop on d3, a pawn on c3 and another bishop on c4, we simply make a d4-f5 to have it out of danger and even checking the enemy queen.
Knights online are perfect for checking and supporting purposes. On the center of the board it can check or support 8 pieces simultaneously. On a side square it can check or support 4 pieces simultaneously. On a corner square it can check or support two pieces simultaneously. Moreover, only knights can check the queen without facing it directly.
A knight on an online board is amazing, to say the least. Aside from its move capabilities, it is easily maneuvered and monitored online.
